Hello Again!

05 February 2015

Hello Again! It's been such a long time since I did a blog post but I did say that I would be back. So here I am!! So many wonderful things have happened these last few months since I've been m.i.a. If you haven't noticed from the picture above, I was preggos and gave birth to the most amazing and beautiful little girl, Kennedy Gabrielle on January 18th. I'm currently on maternity leave and enjoying every second I get to spend with this amazing little person that my husband and I created.

My intentions were to continue blogging and share my journey with dressing my bump but clearly that did not happen. These pictures were the only blog worthy photos I took during my entire pregnancy, I was about 29 weeks here. Shame on me, I know! The truth is I was unbelievably tired throughout my whole pregnancy. I also started a new teaching job in September with a two hour commute both ways which really made it difficult for a preggo gal to then come home to take pics. Not to mention the all day nausea I experienced for the first five months.

But now, I am so happy to be back!! I will be posting pictures from my baby shower and a few pictures of my baby girl soon! I will also start outfit posting again, yay!!

By the Tracks: Wardrobe Remix

06 April 2014

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Target / Pants: J Crew Factory / Purse: Coach / Flats: J Crew / Necklace: J Crew Factory

Hi everyone! I'm back to remix my polka dot cords with a Spring twist. Previously, I featured it with a sweater and bright flats here. I love these pants and really wanted to make it work for Spring. I'm just not ready to give them up yet. So, I was really excited to find this striped tee at Target the other day for $9. As you know, I can't pass up a striped tee but I did stop myself at purchasing just one. I really love the color and pattern combo of this outfit, although my hubby declared that I did not match. What does he know anyway?

Layering 101

08 March 2014

Layering 101

Anyone who knows me knows I love to layer. I rarely wear just one piece unless it's the summertime and it's 90 degrees out. So, I thought I would create a post on how I like to layer my pieces.

Look 1:
Look 1 features three layers. I love the look of layering a casual dress over a button up shirt. I paired a black & white striped dress over a chambray shirt and  topped the look with a herringbone vest. A pair of tights and booties complete the look.

Look 2:
Look 2 features a striped sweater over a chambray shirt and black skinny jeans. This is my go to look during the Winter. I often will swap out jeans for skinny pants or cords for a work appropriate look. Adding a statement necklace makes the look more interesting and a little dressy too.

Look 3:
Look 3 is the easiest look to create and one of my favorites. I own very similar pieces in my closet and I wear this look all the time in the Spring. You can upgrade a simple tee and jeans outfit by adding a lightweight jacket and a multicolored scarf. One of my favorite jackets is my army green jacket which I wear with pretty much everything. Wearing a floral scarf ties the look and colors together.

Striped Sleeves

02 March 2014

Outfit Details:
Shirt: J Crew / Jeans: Old Navy / Heels: Banana Republic / Bag: Cole Haan / Necklace: J Crew

Hi!! Yup, these are the same pair of jeans and heels from my previous outfit post! I love to pair simple t-shirts with jeans and heels. As you know, I am obsessed with stripes! I was so excited when I found this solid navy t-shirt with stripes on the sleeves. Since I didn't own anything like it, I had to buy it to add to my stripes collection. Adding a  necklace brings the perfect amount of sparkle to the outfit.

Hello Fall

Necklace: J Crew
Bracelet: J Crew
Heels: Banana Republic

Hello everyone!! I am finally beginning to feel a little better after battling a cold. Hope everyone is off to a great work week! Last week, I started off my work week with this outfit. I recently purchased this top at Banana Republic Factory. I thought it was more of a peplum style when I purchased it, but once I put it on I realized it didn't have much of a flair. As you can see, I decided to keep it!! The temperatures are finally beginning to feel like Fall and I thought this was a great transition outfit.

Shirt: J Crew/ Cords: J Crew/ Heels: Ann Taylor/ Belt: The Loft/ Tote: The Loft

Hi!! I'm here laying in bed nursing a cold, bummer! Don't you hate when you have a day off and you are sick? Since I've been confined to my bed all weekend, I spent a lot of time on the computer web surfing. I came across this top on sale at J Crew and fell in love. How cute is this jeweled striped tee? I plan on ordering it so I put together a potential outfit for work. I paired the top with navy cords and heels for a casual look. With the jeweled neckline, the accessories can be kept at a minimum and a bright belt gives the outfit a little color.  A perfect look for Fall! Hope everyone enjoys their week!

Nautical

11 September 2013

Hello everyone!! It's Wednesday, happy hump day! So on Sunday, I attended a show for New York Fashion Week. My hubby (Evolution of a Gentleman) was invited to a Frank & Oak workshop so, of course, I tagged along. It was my first time attending a show for NYFW and I was ecstatic to go with him!  I really wanted to run out and buy a new outfit but I searched in my closet instead and decided on this nautical blazer. It is a linen/cotton blend so it is very light weight and perfect for a day in the city. I paired it with bold denim and a statement necklace. I love pairing navy stripes with bright colors. Navy stripes can be paired with anything, in my humble opinion, and I often do.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week! I'm having a stressful first week of school so wearing bright colors always cheer me up!

Date Night

20 August 2013

Hi everyone, happy Tuesday!! I'm feeling completely rejuvenated after a week on vaca. I have two more weeks left of doing absolutely nothing, it's complete bliss. On Saturday, I enjoyed a date night with my hubby. My typical date night attire usually consists of a great fitting tee and great fitting jeans (with heels, a statement necklace and lipstick, of course.) This time, I switched it up by wearing a chambray button up over a striped maxi dress.

This dress was another item on the way out of my closet. I bought it four years ago and wore it probably twice. These days, the dress is too small in the chest area. But then a light bulb came on in my head and I realized I can wear it as a skirt, bingo!!
