Hello Again!

05 February 2015

Hello Again! It's been such a long time since I did a blog post but I did say that I would be back. So here I am!! So many wonderful things have happened these last few months since I've been m.i.a. If you haven't noticed from the picture above, I was preggos and gave birth to the most amazing and beautiful little girl, Kennedy Gabrielle on January 18th. I'm currently on maternity leave and enjoying every second I get to spend with this amazing little person that my husband and I created.

My intentions were to continue blogging and share my journey with dressing my bump but clearly that did not happen. These pictures were the only blog worthy photos I took during my entire pregnancy, I was about 29 weeks here. Shame on me, I know! The truth is I was unbelievably tired throughout my whole pregnancy. I also started a new teaching job in September with a two hour commute both ways which really made it difficult for a preggo gal to then come home to take pics. Not to mention the all day nausea I experienced for the first five months.

But now, I am so happy to be back!! I will be posting pictures from my baby shower and a few pictures of my baby girl soon! I will also start outfit posting again, yay!!

Layering 101

08 March 2014

Layering 101

Anyone who knows me knows I love to layer. I rarely wear just one piece unless it's the summertime and it's 90 degrees out. So, I thought I would create a post on how I like to layer my pieces.

Look 1:
Look 1 features three layers. I love the look of layering a casual dress over a button up shirt. I paired a black & white striped dress over a chambray shirt and  topped the look with a herringbone vest. A pair of tights and booties complete the look.

Look 2:
Look 2 features a striped sweater over a chambray shirt and black skinny jeans. This is my go to look during the Winter. I often will swap out jeans for skinny pants or cords for a work appropriate look. Adding a statement necklace makes the look more interesting and a little dressy too.

Look 3:
Look 3 is the easiest look to create and one of my favorites. I own very similar pieces in my closet and I wear this look all the time in the Spring. You can upgrade a simple tee and jeans outfit by adding a lightweight jacket and a multicolored scarf. One of my favorite jackets is my army green jacket which I wear with pretty much everything. Wearing a floral scarf ties the look and colors together.

Polka Dots & Ballet Flats

12 January 2014

Outfit Details:
Sweater: J Crew Factory / Pants: J Crew Factory / Necklace: J Crew Factory / Flats: J Crew Factory

I must say, I'm loving my new polka dots cords! My hubby gifted me these fabulous items from J Crew for Christmas and he was surprised to see me wear them all at once! Although it was pretty cold, I insisted on wearing my new ballet flats. I love wearing boots but at some point during the Winter, I inevitably boycott them. This normally occurs in late February but I guess getting new flats for Christmas prompted the urge. I'm sure I will be in boots tomorrow, but for today, I will enjoy my flats and my cold ankles.

Enjoy your week!

Hello! I decided to have a little fun by pairing my new polka dot baseball tee with a gingham shirt. I love this look! I'm also super excited about my new shorter haircut and my new lip color!

It's the smaller things that make me happy.

Hello everyone!! I am finally beginning to feel a little better after battling a cold. Hope everyone is off to a great work week! Last week, I started off my work week with this outfit. I recently purchased this top at Banana Republic Factory. I thought it was more of a peplum style when I purchased it, but once I put it on I realized it didn't have much of a flair. As you can see, I decided to keep it!! The temperatures are finally beginning to feel like Fall and I thought this was a great transition outfit.

Sweater: Hive & Honey/ Flats: Dolce Vita/ Necklace: Sabine/ Watch: Nixon/ Purse: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

Hello All! It's the weekend!!! Hope everyone had a great week! Today, I'm featuring my weekly wish list. Piperlime has some great new arrivals on their website like this Merci sweater and these adorable two-tone flats. I'm hoping to snag these on sale. Plus, I had to feature an item from Target's 3.1 Phillip Lim line that was all the rage this week. I'm loving these mini cross body bags especially in this vibrant yellow. It's the perfect accessory to spruce up an outfit. I didn't buy any of the pieces in the collection but if I did, this bag would be the one. Did anyone check out the collection at Target this week?

I also wanted to announce the lucky winner of the Fab August Giveaway! Congratulations to Callie Bowers, your prizes are on the way!!! Thank you to everyone who participated.

P.S. This week, I was featured on Three-fer Thursday's Link Up. I'm so excited to be featured this week! To see Meghan and Bethany's other great picks and to participate in their link up, just click here.

Nautical

11 September 2013

Hello everyone!! It's Wednesday, happy hump day! So on Sunday, I attended a show for New York Fashion Week. My hubby (Evolution of a Gentleman) was invited to a Frank & Oak workshop so, of course, I tagged along. It was my first time attending a show for NYFW and I was ecstatic to go with him!  I really wanted to run out and buy a new outfit but I searched in my closet instead and decided on this nautical blazer. It is a linen/cotton blend so it is very light weight and perfect for a day in the city. I paired it with bold denim and a statement necklace. I love pairing navy stripes with bright colors. Navy stripes can be paired with anything, in my humble opinion, and I often do.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week! I'm having a stressful first week of school so wearing bright colors always cheer me up!

Date Night

20 August 2013

Hi everyone, happy Tuesday!! I'm feeling completely rejuvenated after a week on vaca. I have two more weeks left of doing absolutely nothing, it's complete bliss. On Saturday, I enjoyed a date night with my hubby. My typical date night attire usually consists of a great fitting tee and great fitting jeans (with heels, a statement necklace and lipstick, of course.) This time, I switched it up by wearing a chambray button up over a striped maxi dress.

This dress was another item on the way out of my closet. I bought it four years ago and wore it probably twice. These days, the dress is too small in the chest area. But then a light bulb came on in my head and I realized I can wear it as a skirt, bingo!!

Crisp White

15 August 2013

On Sunday, my hubby and I decided to take a moment and enjoy the beautiful weather by having a picnic. So, we went to the grocery store and then to one of our favorite deli's and packed a cooler! It was a beautiful day and the park turned out to be a great backdrop to take some outfit pics. I wore a crisp white dress and accessorized with a necklace and stacked bangles. I originally purchased this dress to use as a beach cover up, but I hate the beach and never go. This dress has been sitting in my closet for ages. I loved how this outfit came together and am excited about my new-but-actually-old dress. Isn't it exciting when you find items you forgot you had?
