Striped Sleeves

02 March 2014

Outfit Details:
Shirt: J Crew / Jeans: Old Navy / Heels: Banana Republic / Bag: Cole Haan / Necklace: J Crew

Hi!! Yup, these are the same pair of jeans and heels from my previous outfit post! I love to pair simple t-shirts with jeans and heels. As you know, I am obsessed with stripes! I was so excited when I found this solid navy t-shirt with stripes on the sleeves. Since I didn't own anything like it, I had to buy it to add to my stripes collection. Adding a  necklace brings the perfect amount of sparkle to the outfit.

Cobalt Blue

23 February 2014

Outfit Details:
Sweater: J Crew Factory / Shirt: Old Navy / Jeans: Old Navy / Necklace: J Crew Factory
Heels: Banana Republic

Hi!! I'm finally back with an outfit post!! I'm officially out of hiding since the weather has been considerably warm the past few days. Although these photos aren't the best, I still wanted to share because I really like this outfit. I guess my hubby was right about the white background, whatever! I hate when he's right.

I normally don't wear blue but this sweater was on sale over the holidays and I really liked the fit and style. I'm glad I did because I've worn it several times so far. I've been wearing it with mostly black and grays to work but switched it up by wearing it with denim and layers. It went perfectly with my polka dot button up and tan heels.

Hope everyone has a fantastic and productive week. It's back to work for me after a week off, yippee! That was said with complete sarcasm.

Getting Ready for Spring

Outfit Details:
Dress: New Look / Denim jacket: Gap / Tote: Longchamp / Shoes: Steve Madden / Earrings: Aldo / Necklace: Jeweliq / Bangles: Alicia Marilyn

Guess what? Spring is almost here! In just a few more weeks we'll be basking in warmer weather. No more boots and heavy coats, I for one, can't wait! I've already started putting together some outfits for Spring. Today, I'm featuring an outfit I'm planning for a weekend getaway with my hubby. Maxi dresses are so easy to style and denim jackets are a perfect layering piece for the cool early Spring weather. This dress is super affordable and can be worn throughout the Spring and Summer. I can't wait for the days when I can wear outfits like this one...

Date Night

08 February 2014

Date Night

Sweatshirt: VILA / Jeans: Citizens of Humanity / Shoes: Steve Madden / Infinity Scarf: Modcloth /
Clutch: Bank / Lipstick: Estee Lauder

Ughh! That's how I'm feeling right now with this weather. It's been super cold and snowing all the time which has deterred me from taking pics. But in honor of Valentine's Day, I've put together a casual date night outfit. My hubby and I never make a big deal about Valentine's day, but we are planning on having a date night. This outfit is something I would wear for a casual date night with my hubby. I love that this outfit is casual but the lipstick and heels also makes it a bit sexy.

Shades of Green & Three-fer Thursday Feature

20 January 2014

Outfit Details:
Jacket: J Crew Factory / Sweater: J Crew Factory / Jeans: J Crew / Boots: Banana Republic /
Scarf: Banana Republic

First, I am happy to announce  that I was picked to be a featured look for last week's Three-fer Thursday. How exciting! Go visit Bethany & Meghan to see their other top picks!

This look is one of my go to looks for the Fall/Winter. A bright sweater, a bold scarf and a coat for added warmth and layer. I love the way bright emerald looks with leopard. I've had this Banana Republic scarf for ages! I dry clean it to keep it looking new because I love it so much. I fixed my scarf midway through the shoot and I think it looks 10x better as an infinity scarf. What do you think? Enjoy your week!

Believe in Love!

06 December 2013

Hi everyone! Hope everyone had a great week. I, on the other hand, am sick again!! I guess it's one of the drawbacks of being a teacher. I've been home sick for the last two days and though I always enjoy a day off; I don't enjoy it when I am sick and miserable in bed. But anyhow, believe in love, that is  the motto! I had to get this sweater when I spotted it at Old Navy recently. I think this would be a really cute gift for the holidays. I paired it with a chambray shirt and boyfriend jeans for a very relaxed vibe. Layering my chambray shirts with a sweater has been my go to look this Fall season.

What has been your go to look?

New Blog Design & My Casual Picks

09 November 2013

Shirt: J Crew / Vest: J Crew /Jeans: J Crew / Scarf: J Crew / Booties: J Crew

Hello Everyone! Today, I'm featuring my picks for a casual weekend outfit. There's nothing I like better than wearing a casual  button up shirt on the weekend. For the Fall temps, I like to layer with a vest and a chunky scarf. A pair of booties or riding boots add a touch of elegance to the outfit. These pics are all from my fav, J Crew. I'm hoping to score this vest or something similar for the Fall, on sale of course!

P.S. I'm so excited to debut my new blog design by Sophie & Rory. Hope everyone likes it as much as I do.

Enjoy your weekend.

Casual in D.C.

28 August 2013

Hi, Happy Hump Day! Last week, the hubby and I took a road trip to Washington, D.C. We spent three days and had a lot of fun exploring our nation's capital. We stayed in an amazing hotel in the heart of Dupont Circle and had a blast taking in what the city had to offer. The weather was a bit unpredictable; it was uncomfortably hot one day and breezy and cool the next. When packing for the trip, I made sure to pack maxi dresses and plenty of layering pieces. The outfit below was perfect for a cloudy, cool day. If it did become hot, I could easily take off the button down shirt and stow it away in my tote.

Outfit Details:
Oxford Button Down: Ralph Lauren (similar)
Shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: Old Navy
Belt: J Crew
Necklace: J Crew Factory
Bracelets: Lia Sophia, Forever 21
Tote: WM. J. Mills & Co (here)
Flats: Nine West

I loved wearing this maxi dress! It was so comfortable and light weight. I spent the entire day walking in the hot sun so I wanted a no-fuss outfit. I kept the look very simple. The dress was basic, so I threw on a necklace to give the outfit a little character.

Feeling Pink

11 August 2013

Hello Everyone! Hope you are all enjoying the weekend! I'm officially on vacation for 3 1/2 weeks, yay!! So super excited! But my vacation will be spent preparing for my upcoming school year so, technically, I will still be working somewhat.

I wore this outfit to work for casual Friday. This shirt is an oldie but goodie. It was the first gingham shirt I ever purchased. It's such a feminine top; I just love the little details like the ruffles and the pockets. I paired it with skinny jeans and wedges for a work appropriate look.

Speaking of skinny jeans, I'm in love with this pair I found at Old Navy for $8. That's right, $8!! I've always spent an arm and a leg on jeans but I'm trying to be more practical with my purchases. Although I still think nothing fits me better than a pair of Citizen for Humanity jeans; I'm trying to explore more budget friendly options. I was so shocked at how well these Rockstar skinnies fit me and I almost passed them up because of the size. What is up with their sizing?!? These are a size 8 and they fit like a glove, bizarre!
