Getting Ready for Spring

Getting Ready for Spring

Outfit Details:
Dress: New Look / Denim jacket: Gap / Tote: Longchamp / Shoes: Steve Madden / Earrings: Aldo / Necklace: Jeweliq / Bangles: Alicia Marilyn

Guess what? Spring is almost here! In just a few more weeks we'll be basking in warmer weather. No more boots and heavy coats, I for one, can't wait! I've already started putting together some outfits for Spring. Today, I'm featuring an outfit I'm planning for a weekend getaway with my hubby. Maxi dresses are so easy to style and denim jackets are a perfect layering piece for the cool early Spring weather. This dress is super affordable and can be worn throughout the Spring and Summer. I can't wait for the days when I can wear outfits like this one...

Casual in D.C.

28 August 2013

Hi, Happy Hump Day! Last week, the hubby and I took a road trip to Washington, D.C. We spent three days and had a lot of fun exploring our nation's capital. We stayed in an amazing hotel in the heart of Dupont Circle and had a blast taking in what the city had to offer. The weather was a bit unpredictable; it was uncomfortably hot one day and breezy and cool the next. When packing for the trip, I made sure to pack maxi dresses and plenty of layering pieces. The outfit below was perfect for a cloudy, cool day. If it did become hot, I could easily take off the button down shirt and stow it away in my tote.

Outfit Details:
Oxford Button Down: Ralph Lauren (similar)
Shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: Old Navy
Belt: J Crew
Necklace: J Crew Factory
Bracelets: Lia Sophia, Forever 21
Tote: WM. J. Mills & Co (here)
Flats: Nine West

I loved wearing this maxi dress! It was so comfortable and light weight. I spent the entire day walking in the hot sun so I wanted a no-fuss outfit. I kept the look very simple. The dress was basic, so I threw on a necklace to give the outfit a little character.

Date Night

20 August 2013

Hi everyone, happy Tuesday!! I'm feeling completely rejuvenated after a week on vaca. I have two more weeks left of doing absolutely nothing, it's complete bliss. On Saturday, I enjoyed a date night with my hubby. My typical date night attire usually consists of a great fitting tee and great fitting jeans (with heels, a statement necklace and lipstick, of course.) This time, I switched it up by wearing a chambray button up over a striped maxi dress.

This dress was another item on the way out of my closet. I bought it four years ago and wore it probably twice. These days, the dress is too small in the chest area. But then a light bulb came on in my head and I realized I can wear it as a skirt, bingo!!

Dress: Old Navy
Shirt: J Crew Factory
Shoes: Steve Madden
Bag: Michael Kors
Necklace: Tiffany & Co
Bracelet: Pandora

Floral Maxi

08 July 2013

Hello All! Hope everyone had an amazing holiday weekend! I sure did; I enjoyed a lot of relaxing with my hubby, spent some quality time with my family and in-laws, attended a baby shower and squeezed in a little shopping too. Indeed, it was a fun filled weekend! I've been on vacation and patiently waiting to start my new job at a new school. So my apologies for being m.i.a.

I wore this floral maxi to attend a backyard bbq/baby shower on Saturday. The weather was painfully hot so this easy, breezy dress was perfect. I bought this dress about two years ago (maybe longer) on sale from Banana Republic and  i'm still in love with it. I kept my accessories simple: stacked silver bangles, silver hoop earrings and flats. Maxi's are a perfect solution for casual parties and so easy to style.

Dress: Banana Republic
Shoes: Fendi
Earrings: Charter Club via Macy's
Bracelets: Banana Republic

I also attended a wedding the previous weekend and wore a floral maxi dress. This dress was a bit more dressy and very appropriate for a summer wedding. I again kept the look simple and accessorized with gold chandelier earrings, gold stacked bangles, and peep toe heels. Unfortunately, I did not get any full length shots but wanted to share a quick photo of my look.

Thanks for reading and enjoy your week!
