Wardrobe Remix: Green Gingham

26 March 2013

Hello All! Hope everyone is having a great week so far. Today, I'm participating in Franish's 5 Days, 5 Ways Challenge to show you how I plan on remixing my green gingham shirt.  As I mentioned before, I absolutely love gingham and I recently purchased this green one at Old Navy. I've been looking for a gingham shirt in green  for a long time to add to my collection so I am super excited about these outfits. Here are three different ways that I will be wearing my new shirt.

Look 1:

Who says you can't wear floral with gingham. A gingham shirt paired with a floral scarf is a fun way to play with pattern.

Boyfriend Jeans: Banana Republic (old)
Scarf: Target (old)
Flats: Nine West Factory (old)
Bracelet: J Crew Factory, Forever 21

Look 2:

Look 2 features one of my favorite color combos: green and pink! It's a super casual look with a splash of color.

Ankle Skinny Jeans: Banana Republic (old)
Belt: J Crew (old)
Necklace: J Crew (old)
Flats: J Crew (on sale)

Look 3:

And last but not least, Look 3. I must say, this look was my favorite of the three. I love green with navy, truthfully I love anything with navy, and I love how polished I looked. This outfit is perfect for work, you can just substitute the jeans for a great pair of trousers.

Which look is your favorite?

Blazer: Banana Republic (old)
Jeans: Seven for All Mankind (old)
Necklace: Banana Republic (old)
Shoes: Banana Republic (old)
Belt: J Crew

Springing Forward with Gingham

17 March 2013

Hello All & Happy St. Patty's Day! First off, let me say that I'm ready for Spring! I'm so sick of the snow!! Last week, I chose to wear a Springy outfit to beat the Winter blues. Don't let the sun fool you; it was very cold! That pile of snow behind me is still there, so depressing.... These bright emerald jeans (also featured here) were able to cheer me up and remind me that Spring is near.

I paired them with a black and white gingham shirt and leopard flats. Gingham is my absolute favorite so get used to seeing me in this pattern a lot! They are a must have for the Spring season. I scored this gingham shirt from Old Navy for only $15!! Pretty much all my gingham shirts are from J Crew but I couldn't beat the awesome price at Old Navy. I also bought this shirt in green which will be featured very soon. If you like something, buy it in a second color. That's my motto!!

Hope everyone enjoys the upcoming week!

Layering with Mustard & Polka Dots

06 March 2013

Hello All, Happy Wednesday! I am having an awesome week and counting down the days until my next vacation!! This post is a remix of a few of my favorite pieces. I combined my mustard sweater with my polka dot chambray button up and my puffer vest for an extra layer. Although, there's only two more weeks until Spring, sadly, it still doesn't feel like it here in New York. Tomorrow we're expecting snow, so layering is still a must for me. I combined my layers with dark boot cut jeans and booties. How awesome is the color mustard?!?! I only own one sweater in this fabulous color and I always want to wear it!

Chunky Knit

03 March 2013

Hello All!! I am back from a very long hiatus! Today's post features an item I've been searching endlessly for: a chunky, waffle knit sweater in cream. I found this one online from Forever 21 for a whopping $11.99!

Forever 21 is another store that I normally wouldn't shop but I'm trying to branch out. The few times I have went into the store, I got too overwhelmed and walked out with nothing. It's also one of those stores that I now feel like I'm too old to shop in, Express is another one. But I saw someone wearing this sweater on Instagram, which prompted me to visit their website. I like their website much better than going to the actual store. I easily found what I was looking for and at a great price! The quality was pretty good too, which is another reservation I have with Forever 21.

But enough about Forever 21! I paired the sweater with my favorite black skinny pants, black riding boots and a statement necklace for a simple polished look for work. I went a size up in the sweater for a loose, comfy look to be paired with a variety of skinny bottoms. The color can work well into those cool Spring nights. Speaking of Spring, 17 more days!!!
